Local multimedia personality Hartzell Gray emceed the awards ceremony, recognizing the outstanding achievements of the finalists and winners and celebrating the efforts of all 150+ attending members and their advancement of the industry.

JE Dunn Construction Company was among the nine companies awarded top honors during the June 8 program. The firm won Project of the Year by a General Contractor ($100-$250 million) for the work they did constructing the Loews Kansas City Hotel, located in Kansas City, Missouri.

Nominations for the Building Excellence Awards opened early in 2022, and submissions were received from firms throughout the Mid-America region covered by the AGC Kansas City Chapter.

A panel of judges met this spring to determine the finalists and winners for each of the 10 categories recognized during the program. Rau Construction Company was the only firm to take home the top honor in two different Project of the Year categories.

Winners and finalists are recognized throughout the Summer 2022 issue of Modern Builder.
